Who is digging near your underground facilities?
Dig Safe members know.
Dig Safe offers a streamlined communication process to notify members of upcoming excavation projects in the area of their buried utilities, so they can respond in advance to mark out their facilities.
- Facility operators who own and maintain underground utilities become a Dig Safe member to protect their facilities from excavation accidents. Facility operators provide GIS digital data of where their underground is located. Dig Safe then notifies the facility operator when digging takes place near their buried lines, so they can respond to the site to mark their underground facilities. Some members use a contract locating company to mark their buried facilities.

- Read our By-Laws to be informed of the official rules governing the affairs of our organization.
- Complete our Membership Application to provide us with your company's contact information and your specifications for Dig Safe ticket notification.
- Dig Safe members use a dedicated email address or web address to receive Dig Safe tickets. Please provide only one dedicated email address or web address for ticket transmission.
- The Membership Application requires two signatures: one for the Company Information section, and one for the Articles of Association. Signatures may be handwritten or electronic.
- Save the completed and signed Membership Application, then email it to Membership@DigSafe.com.
- Once our Member Services department receives your completed application, we will conact you to start the process.
- Provide GIS Digital Data of where your underground is located. Read the Specifications for GIS Digital Data for instructions on how to submit your data and learn what forms of digital data we accept.
- Email your map data to our GIS Analyst Brian Wegner at Brian.Wegner@DigSafe.com. If you have questions regarding your map coverage, please contact Brian at 615-594-8660.
